About Hardcore Custom Offshore Lures

My name is Kevin Fraser and I grew up in Boca Raton Florida. While living in Florida I had the opportunity to work in a tackle shop, and spent much of my time fishing in a recreational and professional capacity. I worked as a mate on both charter and private boats. I have extensive experience in fishing throughout the Keys, and have been fortunate enough to mate on private boats throughout most of the Bahamas. I have also participated in many South Florida offshore fishing tournaments. I placed well in most, with my best results coming in the Arthur Smith Kingfish, Wahoo, Dolphin tournament held in West Palm Beach in 1984 where I was the Grand Prize Winner. I continued to fish recreationally and work part time as a mate fun fishing.

In 1995 I moved to North Carolina and began fishing out of Morehead City as well as Oregon Inlet. Fishing in North Carolina is very different than it is in South Florida, which has given me a whole new way to look at offshore trolling. I now have a much better understanding of the specific lures and techniques used to catch Tunas. My lure head design was a culmination of the input from an extremely successful North Carolina charter captain and a local machine shop. The results of this relationship yielded the heads we are selling today. I first began fishing these heads after fishing with this particular charter operation and then purchasing the heads from them and tying them myself. Over the next three years we had such good success with these lures we were tying that it got to where on most trips we were fishing four Hardcore Lures and usually two or three of some other manufacturers lures. Because our success was so great with the Hardcore I decided that I wanted to get them in the hands of other fisherman, which resulted in my establishing Hardcore Custom Offshore Lures in 2005.

In 2006, I returned back to Florida (Palm Bay) where I plan to continue to operate Custom Hardcore Offshore Lures.
